Some people just deal really well with pain. Sometimes we have to do shit through the pain. Succeeding does not mean the pain isn't there.

Some people have a higher pain threshold than others. My whole family has a higher one. My husband gets gout in his toe and you'd think he was going to die, the way he hollers and limps around with his whole body. I get out and you'd never know unless I told you. Does it hurt? Sure, but not enough to act like that. Also, pain killers. Pain killers make me sick. So sick that I'd rather deal with any type of pain I have than take them. Again, some people just have a higher threshold. After almost dying and experiencing unimaginable pain, I reserve a 10 for dying. I'm chronically ill, but even a kidney stone (which is freaking intense) isn't more than a 6. I got eye rolls from my nurse for saying it was a 6 while recovering from coding, newly found heart failure and a c section. Apparently, she expected a higher number. You can't win.
